NEW DRIVEBC CAMS MAKE BORDER CROSSING A BREEZE

ABBOTSFORD – Two new DriveBC web cameras have gone live in Abbotsford. These cameras will provide travellers heading to the Huntington/Sumas border crossing with a real-time snapshot of traffic volumes and road and weather conditions.

Why this Matters
• Both new webcams are located on Highway 11 at Farmer Road. One looks north, the other looks south towards the border, giving travellers a great view of traffic heading to and from the Huntington/Sumas border crossing.
• These cameras will help motorists heading to the U.S. choose which border crossing to use, saving them time.
• The new cameras complement the two existing webcams on Highway 11 at 2nd Avenue, bringing the total number of DriveBC web cameras with an eye on border traffic to 10.

Quotes
"The DriveBC webcam program provides travellers with a great tool when heading south of the border. At the click of a button, drivers will be able to get up-to-the-minute information on traffic and weather conditions, allowing them to plan a safer, more efficient route."
-Abbotsford South MLA John van Dongen
